Celebrating Friendship Day

A Heartfelt Initiative

At Manchester International School, we believe in nurturing not just academic excellence but also the values of empathy and compassion. Our Middle Years Programme (MYP) students recently exemplified these values through a heartfelt Service as Action initiative on Friendship Day.

Bringing Smiles to Young Patients

To mark this special occasion, our MYP learners visited the Oncology ward at PSG Hospital, bringing smiles and a sense of companionship to the young patients. Understanding the challenges these children face, our students donated toys, books, and stationery, small tokens of joy that made a big difference in the lives of these brave kids.

A Lesson in Empathy

The visit was more than just an act of giving; it was a powerful lesson in empathy. Our students took the time to interact with the children, offering not just gifts but also their time, love, and support. Through this experience, they demonstrated that even in difficult times, there is always someone who cares.

Reinforcing Kindness and Compassion

The impact of this visit was profound, not just for the patients but for our students as well. The smiles exchanged and the kindness shared reinforced the values that Manchester International School holds dear. It was a day of learning, growing, and understanding that true happiness comes from making a difference in the lives of others.

Leading with Empathy and Compassion

At Manchester International School, our commitment to holistic education goes beyond the classroom. We are proud of our MYP students for embodying the principles of the IB Learner Profile, showing that they are not only knowledgeable and caring but also true global citizens. This Friendship Day initiative is a shining example of how our students are prepared to lead with empathy and compassion in all aspects of life.
