Skillathon 2024
IB PYP celebrated World Youth Skills Day with a vibrant internal competition called "SKILLATHON." Themed "Youth Skills for Peace and Development," the event highlighted our students' talents and their potential to promote global harmony.
The competition aimed to emphasize the significance of youth skills in achieving peace and development. Students from IB PYP 1 to PYP 5 participated in a variety of activities, showcasing their abilities through dance, storytelling, drawing, and other creative expressions. The performances were linked to SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and were evaluated based on creativity, communication, innovation, and self-identity.
Key activities included:
- Dance and musical acts.
- Storytelling and poetry recitation.
- Artistic endeavors like drawing, painting, and DIY crafts.
"SKILLATHON" served as an educational experience, encouraging students to understand and express the importance of their skills in contributing to societal peace. It fostered critical thinking and creativity and helped students develop empathy and a sense of global citizenship, in line with the IB PYP's mission to nurture caring, informed, and proactive individuals.
The event was a remarkable success, showcasing the creativity and abilities of our students. Their participation marked a significant step toward becoming informed and compassionate global citizens, dedicated to making a positive impact in the world.
