Admission Policy
Our admissions policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and holistic — giving every applicant the opportunity to demonstrate their full potential.
Our Commitment to Every Applicant
At Manchester International School, we believe that every child deserves to be considered as a whole person. Our admissions process goes beyond academic scores, seeking students who will contribute to, and flourish within, our diverse and dynamic community.
We welcome applications from families of all backgrounds and nationalities. Our approach is grounded in respect, openness, and a genuine commitment to finding the right fit for every child.

Policy Overview
Holistic Review Process
Every application to Manchester International School is reviewed holistically. Our admissions panel considers academic performance, personal qualities, extracurricular engagement, and the applicant's potential to contribute positively to the school community.
No single factor determines an admissions decision. We look at the complete picture each applicant presents, giving due weight to teacher recommendations, personal statements, and the family interview.
Academic Requirements
Applicants are expected to submit their most recent school reports and academic transcripts. For students entering Year 7 and above, reports from the preceding two academic years are required.
While strong academic performance is valued, we recognise that individual circumstances vary. Students who have demonstrated potential but faced challenges in their academic history are encouraged to apply.
Assessment Procedure
Most applicants aged 7 and above are invited to complete an age-appropriate assessment in English and mathematics. This assessment is not a pass or fail test — it is designed to help our teachers understand how best to support each student from their first day at Manchester.
Assessments are conducted on campus and are designed to be a positive, low-pressure experience for every child.
Equal Opportunities
Manchester International School is committed to equal opportunity in admissions. We do not discriminate on the grounds of race, religion, nationality, gender, or socioeconomic background.
We actively welcome students from diverse backgrounds and believe that our international community is one of the school's greatest strengths. Applications from students with learning support needs are welcome and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Enrolment & Confirmation
Upon receiving an offer of a place, families are required to confirm acceptance by completing the Enrolment Agreement and paying the non-refundable enrolment deposit within the stated deadline.
Failure to respond within the deadline may result in the offered place being withdrawn and made available to other applicants on the waiting list.
Withdrawal & Refund Policy
Should a family need to withdraw after accepting an offer, the enrolment deposit is non-refundable. Families must provide written notice of withdrawal in accordance with the terms set out in the Enrolment Agreement.
For withdrawals occurring after the start of a term, fees for the full term will be charged. The school reserves the right to recover reasonable costs associated with late withdrawals.
