The IIMUN Coimbatore chapter

The IIMUN Coimbatore chapter hosted by Manchester International School had a very magnificent start in the school’s auditorium, on September 2022 witnessed by hundreds of delegates from across the state.

Coinciding with the 75th year of India’s Independence, the 10th year will focus on explainingstudents why India is the land that can Unite Nations- and why it is an idea and not a nation.The idea as it was in 2011 is to replace a highly anglicized elitist school of thought with thelearnings of Gandhi, Tagore and the Vedic times.

The three-day conference was officially inaugurated with the lighting of the traditional lamp by Former Ambassador and Eminent IndianDiplomat Prakash Shah, Dr. P S Moorthi, Chairman Manchester International School, Ms. Priya Moorthi, Correspondent (Manchester), Head of School, Mr. Rajesh Vasudevan, Mr. Harish Prakash, Senior Director IIMUN, and Ms. Radhika Shah.

The IIMUN in the next two days will focus on Question of Castebased Quotas inEducation, Framework to

implement NEP 2020, India’s Progress on UNSDG, Russia-Ukraine Crisis, and other global and local issues.

Around 400 delegates from across the city and outside are participating in this youth leadership programme. They will be employing the skills od expression, negotiation and delegation voicing for and against motions that will put for discussion.

A great opportunity for our youngsters to understand how the world talks and impacts huge decisions.
